Wari the french fencer!
Yep, I met someone that is pretty cool. I have been seeing a guy that I am quite found of! He treats me well and is quite interesting. He is from Southern France. He moved to Greenville about 10 years ago. He is quite the fencer (yes, he plays with swords) and makes me smile! This weekend I am going with him to TN to watch him compete in the SE Qualifier for fencing...here is a picture of us at the wedding.
News
Well I am sure you guys would like me to post on the history and current status of my left knee! Too bad. Sometime, I will write all that happened, the dislocated knee cap on the side of my leg, which actually I may have dislocated my entire knee. Then 2 months later I found out I 100% tore my acl, 50% tear of my mcl and 30% tear of my meniscus. I needed surgery, which I had on Feb 5th. Everything is going great and I just started to run and jump. I have about 50% strength in my left leg. I should be close to full strength by July. I have a gorgeous scar now too.
Oh crap, I just did tell you pretty much everything...oh well.
Thanks for the flowers and well wishes.

Jodi's Wedding
July 2006 Jodi Steffes wed Alex Welp. Jodi is my teammate and friend from Clemson University. She met Alex at Clemson. She was the assistant volleyball coach and he was an assistant basketball coach. They are a great couple!!! They had a fantastic slide show at the reception. There were some very embarrassing pictures of yours truly. It does mean so much to have such wonderful friends and to be a part of such glorious events!

VA Beach
My friend Lauren is the coolest! I met her early 2006 after she came back from a 3 year mission in Budapest, Hungry. Lauren grew up in good ol Seneca, SC and went to Presbyterian college. She played volleyball and softball there and I met her at the adult leagues in Greenville.
So that being said, Lauren was asked to speak at a church in Virginia Beach during the July 4th weekend. This church had sent members over to Hungry while Lauren was there and they wanted Lauren to give her testimony, hang out etc. So knowing full well that I would hop in a car and take a long road trip on a whim, she asked me to accompany her to what I know think is the "bestest place on earth".
We stayed with the sweetest couple from the church. He was an ex Navy man and she was a FANTASTIC cook! They opened their homes and hearts to us.
Once Lauren and I arrived to VA Beach, we went for a long jog, that was cut short (2.5 miles...Lauren kills me with the half marathon distances) to see a volleyball court on the beach. We stopped, chatted and played around a little.
After a shower we went out to a yummy seafood restaurant. After dinner we met an ex navy guy that explained to me how to spot the military mean versus the non military. I must say, military men are okay in my book ;-)
Lauren spoke at the church and received many well wishes from the members. It was amazing to meet so many caring people. After church we explored First Landing State Park where the English settlers landed in 1607. It was a lovely experience and I am thankful Lauren asked to to be her travel buddy!

Another Charleston Weekend
Okay so I am way behind on my posts, but since my recent surgery that has left me coach-bound, I have high hopes of catching up on everything past. Back in oh June 2006 Lynn and I went to Charleston again for another EEVB tournament. We played open doubles. Lynn's birthday was the Thursday before so we ate in Mac Grill on her honor and I asked them to sign "Happy Birthday". If you have ever experienced a birthday at Mac Grill, sometimes the sign in Italian Operaish type. An embarresed Lynn is a Happy Jackie!!!
We stayed at Shevlin's new pad. It is less than a mile from IOP and looks like something out of cribs. Backyard pool, spa and the house was CLEAN!!!
We went to none other than wild wings that night. Lynn and I barely drank. I actually think that I did not drink at all and Lynn and I ended the night by playing scavenger hunt at the bar...example find white sneakers...etc. I had a blast.
