Run Charleston, Run

On a bright and sunny Friday, Julia, Lynn and Jackie begin their adventure to Charleston for the Cooper River Bridge Run. This is a 10K run, amazingly over the Cooper River Bridge. We started the festivities at the Library, where Kari and JB joined us. They were visions in pink...Wait JB was wearing salmon.
We enjoyed dinner at the Southern Brewery, which is a lot like Blue Ridge in Greenville. Dinner was delicious and then it was off to bed.
At 6:30 we FINALLY awoke and rushed to get to the race. We walked two miles from our hotel to the start line. Lynn started in front with all the "cool" people and Julie and Jackie jumped in not much behind her.

We all finished the race, Lynn in 44 minutes, Jackie in 57 minutes and Julie in 64 minutes. I was proud of everyone and the race was over...or was it...
We then had a few beverages at the roof top bar at the square. Corona tastes real nice after 6 miles!!! I ran in to Nick there. It was awesome to see him. Apparently, Brent Stover was supposed to be around, but was no where to be found. Anyone who knows Brent will laugh at that. Never did see Brent.

After lunch at the Brick (which is a dive, but the food was grrrrreat), us chicks went to IOP for some sand volleyball. We actually played on the main court at the "Jammer". Lynn and Jackie, were the two crazies who actually went swimming in the ocean. I have decided to add surfing on my list of things to do...

After a shower, power nap, and dinner the "chicks" went for a night on the town. We started at Henry's (everyone always does) and wandered to Wet Willies. How we decided on Wet Willies is beyond me, but I actually had a good time. We started dancing and wanted more. Kari recommended we go to City Bar and boy was that a good idea.
We danced more, a whole lot more and when I came back from getting another drink, Lynn was wearing a captains hat.

The owners of the hat were a bunch of guys from Atlanta. We proceeded to dance and laugh with them to the end of the night. Much love guys!!!

Sunday morning it was breakfast at Vickery's and back to the beach for more volleyball and a little beach football, props to Nick's friend Ross for the football. We all learned that since I am an only child, I can throw but not catch. I am really bad!!

It was a super fun weekend and I am glad for all the memories made.

You met Ross too? That is hilarious - did he bring a "Box of Wine" along? That makes me smile - I am glad you had an awesome time - I hope you sent out nice thoughts about me when you were on the top of the bridge - we really wished we could have run it. Matt was even considering flying down there - I heard there were 40,000+ this year? Yikes.

It was ~46,000!!! It was a sea of bobbing heads. What is with the box of wine? I can only imagine.
I think the new bridge was easier. That is what I hear.

Well, after reading this jackie I'm going to have to go with you next year. I don't think charleston has ever sounded so fun, except for when I was with Laura :)

You should totally come with.
For next year, we are talking about renting a house for the weekend.
